Oncore-BSM manages all of the operational needs of a biorepository from collecting and accessioning specimens to distributing and tracking them as they are utilized by researchers.
The system was developed in accordance with the published caBIG^™ compatibility guidelines and consistent with the relevant portions of the Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research guidelines.
Oncore-BSM maintains not only specimen and donor information, but also important information about other specimens from the same donor, refined materials (like DNA and RNA from the specimen), derivative specimens, lab results, and annotations of accumulating experimental and clinicopathological data.
Flexible ad hoc reporting tool supports the generation of Working Lists, capacity and usage reports, and the determination of specimen availability and location.
Oncore-BSM is designed to either stand alone or link seamlessly with PercipEnz's well-established and popular oncology research management system (Oncore-ORM^™) to create a comprehensive, integrated cancer informatics platform.
By using standard protocols and vocabularies, and by conforming to published guidelines, this entire platform also easily integrates with other systems and analysis tools.
