Cancer Centers & Community Leaders Recognized for Collaborative Excellence at the Onsemble 2008 Fall Conference

MADISON WI -- Five cancer centers and two individuals were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the cancer research community during the Onsemble 2008 Fall Conference in August.

The annual Onsemble Collaborative Excellence award recognizes a centers' commitment of time and resources to a major collaborative initiative that benefits the broader cancer center community.

For the first time, individuals were recognized by the community with the Concertmaster Award which honors an individual's "sustained commitment to the pursuit of community goals and the dedicated leadership to keep us all hitting the right notes." Awardees of the Onsemble 2008 Concertmaster Award were Kerry Bridges, MBA, BSN, CCRC, Administrator of the Clinical Research Office at the Univeristy of Indiana Simon Cancer Center and Henry Durivage, PharmD, Director of Human Research Services at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.

This year's collaborative excellence awardees were founding members of the OnCore / PDQ^® Interface Collaborative Initiative, a project that has resulted in seamless data exchange between cancer centers that use the OnCore^® clinical research administration software and the National Cancer Institute's Physicians Data Query (NCI('s PDQ) database. Key participants from these centers also received framed certificates recognizing their roles as "First Chairs," within the community.

Awardees of the Onsemble 2008 Collaborative Excellence Award were the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Vanderbilt - Ingram Cancer Center.

Srini Kalluri, President & CEO of PercipEnz Technologies along with the company's chief scientific officer, Tony O'Hare, PhD handed out the awards on the opening day of the Onsemble conference.
